Like many of us Matt was drawn to photography at an early age. His first shots were of He-Man action figures using the disposable film cameras of the mid 80's. He studied photography in high school, worked for the school newspaper, and graduated in 1996. In the mid 2000's he started traveling often as a professional drummer. Matt purchased a Sony digital point and shoot camera to mainly document his adventures in the various cities and countries. His first professional photography job was being a second shooter for weddings. He graduated to doing weddings of his own in 2007. "There is no other situation like a wedding to really test a photographer's technical and artistic abilities under such a time constraint. You get no second chances and as they say you can't publish excuses." Since then Matt has worked professionally in the head shot, portrait, street fashion, and live concert categories of photography. His main goals in teaching are always to encourage people in their love of photography and to help them master their camera.
