My training goes back to college, where I minored in Studio Art, focusing on B/W Film photography. The courses I studied centered on technical proficiency exposing B/W film in a manually-metered camera, and controlling all elements of developing the negatives by hand. Darkroom technique followed, enlarging 35mm B/W prints with an enlarger, choosing contrast filters, and manipulating chemical techniques for prints.
Today, I am embracing digital processes as a new endeavor, while continuing to shoot and develop B/W film aligned with my training. Now that digital photography has become the norm, many photographers have expressed new interest in the old ways shooting on film, and I welcome their curiosity with open arms. I hope to spread my knowledge and passion for chemical-process photography to the next wave of enthusiasts, while promoting a unified appreciation for photography in its most basic definition: Recording an exposure of light that is framed, focused, and intensity-controlled by a person manipulating a photsensitive instrument called a camera, regardless of recording media.

We went for our morning walk at Descanso Gardens, it was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining, the sky was so blue! There were many hummingbirds tasting the sweet nectar, a very colorful flowers. I began taking pictures with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and got so intrigued with so many hummingbirds. Then I started following a particular bird from one bush to another taking many photos of it! Capturing such beautiful photos was such a treat, I felt like I hit the jackpot!

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
